First show of the year starts in a little over an hour. What’re we thinking and what’re we hoping for?
I definitely think the set will be changed up a little and I definitely think we’ll get at least one song we haven’t heard live. I’m hoping we get Blank Condolences, Vigil, and Equus 3. I’d also love to hear Trinkets again with the current lineup. Digging back a little further, Soothslayer would absolutely slay with the current lineup and if we’re going to stick with slow openers, Miranda would be set the mood perfectly.

I asked Cedric on his instagram a couple of months ago about the possibility to have the soothsayer live at some point and he replied “that would cost us a bit of change to get string players involved especially touring with them”, so it seems unlikely.
I would be surprised if they play something else out of the s/t, but would be cool to see.

I feel like they could still make it work but yeah I didn’t think about that.

I wondered if these shows were originally supposed to be our introduction to the new material.

Wow they're just playing Lucro straight through, that's so tight. Now I'm extra bummed I can't afford a show.

I think by this point we don't have any doubts about what they think about the S/T, it simply doesn't work live.
I love to see them just confident enough to just play new material. This is so exciting. Looking forward to see them whenever they return to Europe.

Teri’s background vocals are beautiful. I love this new direction.

I think the idea of having Teri on to double Cedric's vocals live is a nice one because with this album in particular, even more than the last, the doubletracked vocals are very much a part of the sound, very forefronted. Also hearing Teri sing TMV music is just cool. Kinda like how some moments on Cell Phone Bikini had a real TMV vibe from Teri on those instrumentals.

I agree completely. Teri’s vocals complement Cedric’s very well.
I really hope someone is able to record one of these shows in full.

Yeah I've found myself scouring for new clips, it sounds so good live. Imagine if this was the first we heard of the new album, how fervent we would be for live recordings right now.

Speaking of new clips
Vocals only at the end kinda like Fin. I like this addition very much.

Very cool that they have Teri on vocals. I've long felt that Cedric has deserved some strong backup vocals, I've only watched a few clips from the first show but it seems like they have really crafted their parts out. I like the stage set up. Reminds me of the 2010 ORL tour where Deantoni was in the middle of everyone.
I've stopped listening to the leak because I don't want to spoil the record before it comes out, so I'm going to do the same with the long form live vids for the time being - but I look forward to digging into these shows soon and am envious of everyone who gets to attend this tour.

Haven't watched or listened yet but someone seems to have filmed the full gig last night, and I saw Matt Bittman (MixMasterMatt on TheComa, who seems to be doing sound for TMV again) say this was a special one!

Thanks for sharing! Seems to sound even better than the one from Seattle that TMS assembled, even though only watched a few seconds.
Yes, Cedric’s wife and kids were there! I imagine they really tried to make it special.
Yes, Matt’s with them again, sometimes he posts on the FB group, I also seen that one you mentioned.

Just watched this and damn it is good! I love seeing Teri up there with Cedric. I feel like she’s a great compliment to Cedric and the songs. I wasnt planning to see them on this tour but maybe I should.
My theory (or wishful thinking): the band themselves leaked the album, and they’re performing it that way, and when it’s officially released it will be the same songs but it will be different versions of them and Teri will be included on the album.

Just got a notification from an app I have that Lucro will be on streaming services April 11, which means it's entered into the streaming systems on the backend etc. and will be available for pre-order / pre-save, so I expect we'll get something from Clouds Hill quite soon, maybe a preview single.

Just got back from the Detroit show. I wasn't planning on catching any of this tour, but I already had this week booked off work and realized it wouldn't be too difficult to hop across the border for it. Glad I did, TMV put on an incredible show. The new material sounds great live, they've clearly put a lot of work into honing this set. Teri is a wonderful addition, her and Cedric sound incredible together. I talked a lot of shit on her back in the Bosnian Rainbows days, but her presence is such a great fit to the band.
Looking forward to seeing their next headlining tour and how they integrate the new material with the back catalogue. I would have loved to see this set with an audience that is there specifically for them, but even so, I respect the balls to perform entirely new material in a setting like that.

so great that you got to see a show! i have a feeling that being in europe i won't get a chance to see this particular 'full album' performance but have so much respect for them doing it, and really hope it signals more of that type of energy moving forward (new material, live premieres, purely forward looking)
