Cue The Sun for the first single, Un Disparo Al Vacio for the second imoBobbyBaliverne wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 8:43 pm I don't even know which track would work as a single. Cue the sun ? Voice in my knives maybe ?
As much as the drums are pretty forgettable on this album, the bass really shines. Wonder if it's Eva playing.

Re: LP8
Thoughts are forming: this is yet another evolution from the groundwork laid down on S/T and I very much dig them wading out into strange territory.
strong grooves but I gotta say, with mostly the same energy throughout, it begins losing steam for me.
S/T had a bit more spirit off the bat even if the typical flavors were different, more immediate impact whereas here on “Ocho” the taste develops slowly as you sample each ingredient mixing and let it melt on your tongue.
I can’t deny that getting less “guitar forward” tracks again is a little hard to digest for me especially after S/T was already missing a lot of that energy I yearn for, but we’ve mostly been there since Noct now so….
Not the things I usually come to “TMV” for but that’s fine, their imprint on me still isn’t going anywhere.
I just miss that explosiveness, all the while recognizing the boys simply may not have that in them anymore, “been there, done that” and so on.
This pouring right out of them is definitely worlds better than forcing that manic prog demon out of its seal.
These tracks will come alive live, and I will be so excited to see them bring out the true power it holds.
I’m glad most are enjoying it so far and think I’ll clean up most of my grouchiness digging deeper and spending more time listening.
hell, I’m already softening as I listen again and look this over and type shit out and delete multiple times lol.
Almost certainly due to the quality of the tracks that leaked but def getting a little “rough draft” on the mixing, I hope final release slaps me a little for having a cool-ish first spin
Fuck it, I am at the very least respectfully asking someone in the studio to put a strong pot of coffee or tea on for our beloved band.
Cheers y’all, no matter what I am so happy to be on a board with dedicated fans and eager to hear different perspectives.

Re: LP8
Maullidos seems to maybe be about the ritual sacrifice of a woman via drowning. Perhaps she is the Storm Queen mentioned in one of other track titles and that postcard? If she's so important to the album's concept, maybe this is a ghost story of some kind.
Re: LP8
I'm guessing it's Willy and Eva on drums and bass again.
Although there were some passages where I could be convinced it's Philo on drums.
I forgot which song, but one of them featured some fretless electric bass and it made me think of Juan.
Loving this album so far.

Want to thank everyone for the shot of nostalgia the last couple of days. From discussing the shitty, low quality Frances leaks to the dude recording the Zed and Two Naughts clip from a fucking Best Buy video game display, these leak moments are both fun to revisit and sad knowing I'm this old and still up to these shenanigans with you asshats.
P.S. tol sux

Idk where y’all are finding this but I can’t wait to hear it!
Re: LP8
Is there a way to make this gapless? Not to be the guy bitching about an amazing opportunity to get an early listen (and thank you to those that led the way), but with so many songs broken up into sections those gaps really ruin the flow, build ups, ect.

Re: LP8
Super nocto fan here, I think I was listening to the best buy cellphone recording version of Zed non stop for several days after the 'leak'.
But was it summer really ? I have memories of a really cold night outside for my first listening of the noctourniquet leak.
I burned the album on CD yesterday, haven't been bothered by the tracks changing to the next one honestly. Is there a way to make this gapless? Re: LP8
In the meantime, I loaded all the tracks into Audacity and trimmed a few micro-seconds off the beginning of each track. Not quite perfect but satisfactory for now.

Hmmm no gaps for me. I use an Android app called Neutron Player. Maybe I have the HQ version? Quality is pretty good.

Re: LP8
Ok, maybe I’m way off base here but it just hit me like a ton of bricks while listening to Voice In My Knives. Could LP8 finally be that “spy theme” album that someone mentioned hearing a looong time ago? I can’t even remember the exact details, but I remember this being discussed on The Comatorium at some point?
Re: LP8
This was an Omar solo album that was for sure finished around the time of the Antemasque album release. Don't think Cedric was on it (at least not at the time) and don't think it ever came out. I remember hearing something that sounded like spy music as pre-show music for the Antemasque live show I was at during their first tour but no way of knowing what it was.Deloused21 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 11:21 pm Ok, maybe I’m way off base here but it just hit me like a ton of bricks while listening to Voice In My Knives. Here I was thinking I cracked the code, thanks for keeping me in check!
Re: LP8
I also use android and have Pulsar. It's not like a 3 second space or anything but it certainly disrupts the flow, really crushing the momentum of the first three tracks. I am, without a doubt, being a total bitch about this minor flaw, but it bugs the hell out of me. That being said, as I get older there are less and less albums that are like adventures worth obsessing over, where I'm thinking about getting back to listening to when I'm not and are excited to get the Airpods in before bed. That is always the case with these guys.Poimandres wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 10:22 pm Hmmm no gaps for me. I use an Android app called Neutron Player. Maybe I have the HQ version? Re: LP8
Yeah, I don’t have gaps in my version. Seems to be a pretty standard quality rip.
Listened to this album on a rainy drive home today and it fit the mood perfectly. Can’t wait for the official release and to hear the warmth of the vinyl. Seems like a great album for vinyl.
