Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazon (TMV album Acoustic) - out 21 April
Wow, amazing news of this just dropped. Blank Condolences acoustic sounds fantastic, I love the latin percussion and I think it's as really great version.
Excited for a full album of acoustic versions! I wonder how some of the songs will be pulled off.
Vinyl and all that jazz available from https://cloudshillshop.com/

What a nice surprise!!

What do you make of the Blank Condolences version that released?
I thought it was great in the first verse but when they switched up the rhythm in the second and Cedric changed the rhythm of how he delivered his lines my ears really perked up. I like that they are making some changes like that to keep it interesting, and quality of the recording is great. Sounds live but also very studio-clean.

Not the biggest fan of acoustic Blank Condolences, but that's mostly because I love the original so much, one of my fav from the s/t. Here it's missing the best part, the groovy break "bounty on your head, bounty on your head is not a crown of thorns"
But I am seriously super excited for the whole release. Here it is, the fucking eternally awaited salsa album !!
Can't wait to hear the rendition of The requisition. This is the one I'm having the hardest time figuring as acoustic / salsa (considering the whole album will have the same latin percussion).

it's the differences from the original that make me love it. i would feel like its much less exciting if it was strictly an acoustic carbon copy!BobbyBaliverne wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 7:51 am Not the biggest fan of acoustic Blank Condolences, but that's mostly because I love the original so much, one of my fav from the s/t. but i do agree it can be disappointing when a favourite part isn't represented. still, now we have 2 quite different versions that still really reflect each other!
yeah thinking Omar is feeling particularly able to take on the salsa stuff now with Leo as the keyboard player. He is an incredible pianist and must be such a breeze now to do salsa versions when he can likely just play whatever song in a salsa style at the drop of a hat haha. How long have we been hearing about doing a salsa record now?! I really don't know how some of the songs will be made acoustically at all which excites me because surely it means there will be some drastic changes to some of the songs to make them work in that context.

Not so much related to this release, but this makes me think of Un ensayo desparecido... I was super excited for it when I first heard the single, Nocturna Luz. Ended up being rather disapointed by the whole thing because Nocturna Luz was the only song that truly differed from Xenophanes.
Here I'm hoping for some more changes ! Imagine new sections of songs, or different structure to fit in the salsa genre, idk. I'm really wondering how the 'rock' parts will sound.
And I can already tell Tourmaline is gonna be magnificient and will break my heart into five different kind of pieces.

This'll be cool. I'm annoyed that the video is trapped in the volta cube though. Hopefully it won't stay there. I don't know how to use QR codes, lol.
EDIT: I figured it out. Closest one's at a record store across the river. Fuck that. Why can't it be at the little train caboose like when I played Pokemon Go years ago??

i havent even bothered with the cube stuff. i like that they are doing things like this but when bands do i always worry that its like a lot of effort for something with not much outcome and can make things seem like a failure. though i did see they won some marketing award for the cube launch of blacklight shine!

This is some embarrassing, radio 1 live lounge shit. Dull as dishwater. The first TMV album I have absolutely zero interest in. They'd better not be playing this nonsense when they come to the UK.
