Have you listened to the 2016-17 run of ORL solo albums released on Ipecac?
What are your favourites?

My top picks are Nom De Guerre Cabal, El Bien y mal Nos Une, Zapopan, Zen Thrills, Umbrella Mistress, and maybe Cell Phone Bikini, but it's hard to get any more specific than that!
Was such a crazy time when those records were coming out. Listening to the 30 second samples of the tracks and the 1 single that would release the week before.
Such an exciting time to be getting so much new music from one of my favourite artists

it did kinda fizzle out but before that it was like supposed to end after like 12 wasn't it? and then they announced okay 12 more!! and that was fucking crazy. what a time to be tuned in.
ending on doom patrol was a proper full stop like okay and now here's all the weirdest leftovers OK BYE

i didn't make those, auxfx on thecomatorium did, and i think thats the user djzap with the running ramona animation from the scott pilgrim game

i really enjoyed the mix between zapopan and unicorn skeleton mask, and aranas as well. these were also made by auxfx if i recall correctly

Yeah I was auxfnx on the coma, did a few different mixes - one was a remastering of USM, one was an 'alternative version' of USM using the newer mixes from Zapopan and Zen Thrills etc, and I did a few iterations of Aranas.
I'm glad you guys like them! I'll post them up on here soon actually. I think I want to do a new and better version of Aranas though.

• Zapopan would be in there if Happiness wasn't split up with those crazy fades. I mean come on.
  Aranas is also fatally wounded by the weird monitor mix sound that it has. We know that there are better takes but my theory is: the only way to get Eva's playing on the couple of tracks was to use a really bad source, and then the sound of everything else was mashed to make it sound like a unified album. The better sounding outtakes that we all have, probably have the bass replaced by Juan or Omar.

Looks a bit that way. But not really; I love bands like ELO from the 70s. Just some of this Omar stuff doesn't connect with me. Although I do keep trying.

glad to see you here, i love those mixes. it'll be nice to see what others on here think of them as well. i've been obsessed with some omar albums lately, and found myself wondering if you had ever mixed xenophanes/ensayo de un desaparecido, ditc/ditc unfinished mix/landscap tantrums, un escorpion perfumado/el bien y mal nos une.
